Family

We bought a new computer the other day and it has a cool web cam. I was teaching Brent how to use it and we snapped these funny pictures.

Here's Zack trying to figure out how it works too...

Ha, ha Zack! You're so funny!

Brent being silly.

Enjoy life at the funny farm! We're so crazy. Anyway, today is Memorial Day and we are so grateful to all the service men and women out there protecting our country. We are also so fortunate to have another day off. I usually NEVER sleep in. I'm usually up when the roosters crow. Today, I slept in til 8:30! I feel refreshed and I am looking forward to the week ahead (I'm only working Tuesday and Wednesday).
Hope you all are having a good day.

Three Day Weekend - WOO HOO!

AHHH, This weekend is Memorial Day and we get a 3 day weekend! Our family really needs the down time. Brent & Noah went on an overnight trip to ride their bikes. Bryce, Zack & I are home for the moment. I'll be heading to Downtown L.A. for breakfast at The Pantry and then to a ribbon wholesaler. Then tonight, we get to enjoy the beautiful music of the Brothers Cazimero, who are in concert at Whittier College. We get to see them every May. We just love them and we are so fortunate to know them personally. Their concerts are always awesome!
Check back later for pictures. I promise!

WHAT! TWO POSTS IN A DAY? YOU'LL ENJOY THIS ONE...

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT

Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may know YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It takes less than a minute.
Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun!
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like togo out to eat.(more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758...If you haven't, add 1757.6.

Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number. (i.e., How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.) The next two numbers areYOUR AGE ! ------ (Oh YES, it is!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2008) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

It's Been Awhile

Hi There Folks! It's been awhile, sorry about that. We've had some computer issues...our laptop died and now we only have our desktop (boo). I have to send the laptop out for repairs. Needless to say, the desktop is much slower and older and no fun to post and save anything on. Here's just a peak at all that has gone by...seems like a blur sometimes, but here goes:

Work is work and school is school. All I can say is that we all really need a break. It's a good thing that a 3 day holiday is just around the corner. The boys have been testing, testing, testing and come home from brain overload...they're sleeping by 8:30 most nights. It's good though, they are growing young men, after all. I'm going to try to post some pictures soon.

In April, we celebrated Bryce's 17th Birthday...I remind him everyday about turning 18 and that he only has a few short months til he's accountable for himself. He's really looking forward to driving...We've put that off for just a bit. School keeps him really busy...We just need to find some free time. He will be starting an on-line driver's ed course in the very near future.

Zack is in his last month of middle school. WOW, that's a biggy for us. He's so quiet, I always wonder what's on his mind. But then there are days when I know what's on his mind...he'll let us know (that's for sure). He's so tall and handsome....taller than me and Bryce. He'll be turning 14 in 2 weeks! June 19th, he'll be "culminating" from CHIME MIDDLE SCHOOL. He had a pretty good 8th grade year. I think is best memory of 8th grade was going to the east coast for a week with his class. Another memory for me (and probably him) was getting in trouble because he was caught giving his girlfriend, Courtney, a smooch (puhlease!).

What can I say about Noah, he's 10 and just loves life. He's very witty. Just the other day I was eating an Altoids mint (they'r sort of HOT) and I didn't offer him one. Well, he turned around and asked, why didn't you offer me one? I said, I didn't think you wanted one because they're REALLY hot. Well, he replied, "My middle name is HOT"! I was driving at the time, I cracked up. From now on, we call him Noah HOT Ranck! He caugh me so off guard, all I could say, was Noah, you're such a character. He truly is a comedian. He's also very loving too.

As for Brent & I, we are entertainment directors for the kids (not just ours, but just about all the other kids in the neighborhood), taxi service and a bank. I'm sure all you other parents can relate.

I had a good Mother's Day, quiet and low key...just what I wanted. I received the best love notes from the boys and a nice big hug and smack (on the lips even!). Brent turned 41 on Monday. We ate BBQ at our favorite BBQ joint, Hogly Wogly Tyler Texas BBQ (YUM).

Well folks, like I said, I'll try to post some recent pics that I took recently. Keep checking in for those.

Have a great weekend y'all!

Thought for today - The Holy Alphabet

This came to me by email and I thought it would be good to poast...Enjoy!

Look at my Servant, whom I have chosen. He is my Beloved, and I am very pleased with him. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not fight or shout; he will not raise his voice in public. He will not crush those who are weak, or quench the smallest hope, until he brings full justice with his final victory. And his name will be the hope of all the world.—Matthew 12:18-21

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X-alting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

As you probably know, life is not always easy. One of the greatest promises Christians have is in the joy and hope of Christ. We live not simply for today, but with an eternal perspective. As you go about your day today, think about all the ways you can be thankful. Try to live each day with gratitude!

Trying to Catch up!

Spring is in the air and all of a sudden it seems like life has just sped up more than ever. Winter was pretty low key for us. But lately, we have been pretty busy with work, school and school events for the boys. This past weekend was pretty fun and SUPER HOT (90 degrees +). We were all out and about Saturday. Mom, Michelle and I went to Nordstorm for the Spring trend show. It started at 8 a.m. (good thing we're early birds). We had a blast seeing all the new make up trends for this spring/summer. Then we went to our favorite make-up counters (Mom=Philosophy, Michelle & I=Bobbi Brown). We got lots of freebies and some really good tips! Then we headed over to Zack's school for their Spring Fling, ate lunch and headed home. Brent & Noah went to ride their motorcycles and headed off to the Dodger game with Unko Mitch. Sunday, Bryce was up bright and early getting ready to go paintballing with his buddies. The rest of us headed off to the beach to escape the HEAT! However, it wasn't much cooler there either. It was still a nice day. Zack enjoyed 2 hours in the water, boogie boarding. Noah on the other hand, said the water was WAAAYYY too cold! We had fun watching the Malibu Makos learn to surf. Our weather has been hot, really, really hot and our air conditioner seems be acting up. I guess I'll have to call our favorite AC guy...Chris!

This week we're looking forward to another busy week...Noah has a birthday party after school - laser tag -- oo, fun! Dodger game on Wednesday, open house for Bryce and Noah on Thursday, Lawry's Prime Rib on Friday to celebrate April birthdays. 40th Birthday bash for Unko Mitch on Saturday and Bryce's 17th Birthday on Sunday! WOW...i'm outta breath.

I'll post some new pictures soon.

A hui hou,
Kim
