More Eye Candy!

I told I would be back! This time I have more eye candy to delight your eyes! Enjoy...

So what'd you think? I hope you liked them. I have to get back to cleaning...Have a great weekend!

Slacker!

Well, well, well, can you tell, I have been a major blog slacker! February breezed by us in the blink of an eye and now we are 3/4 of the way through March! What do I have to say for myself? I really haven't had much to say or share lately. But, right now, I have quiet time and it's early and the rest of the house is in dreamland. I figured I need to update our blog before everyone starts stirring about. The family has been busy with this and that...the usual, work, school, home and fun on the weekends. I have been been able to squeeze in some creative therapy (WHICH I LOVE) and I was able to make these cards.
I have more cards that I have made. I will scan and post them later on. Now back to family business, I had a meeting with Bryce's counselor a week or so ago and she said he's on course for graduation next year and she wanted to go over his college requirements, which she said that he is 85% there and that he is eligible to get into a State school here in California. He will take the S.A.T in May. In just a month, Bryce will be turning 18! Zack is shy and quiet. However, lately, he's been learning how to play the drums. He's actually pretty good and can carry a beat! Noah is looking forward to Spring break and then Astro Camp with his class after he returns. He is your typical 11 year old, carefree and fun loving. That's about it for now. I'll be back with more of my creations later. Have a great day!

Catch Up Time

I know, I know, it's been awhile. We've had some really awesome weather these past few weeks and we have been out and about enjoying the warm 80 degree temperatures! But, as we all know, good things must come to an end! It has been raining since yesterday, off and on. I happen to enjoy the rain and then the days after a good rain because the air is so clean and crisp! Anyway, I have been wanting to post about a cool gift that I received from my boss for Christmas. I received a Making Memories SLICE die cut machine. It is handheld, cordless and weighs less than 2 lbs. I love it and here is what it looks like~It is one of the coolest gadgets in the scrapbook/card making world. Needless to say, after the holidays, I started working with it. I'm so excited about my SLICE! It cuts cool shapes, flowers, words and alphabets. It came with a memory card that has cute templates on it. You select the template, the size (1 to 4 inches) and tell it to cut away! I made these cards:Thank you card. I SLICED the flower, swirly tag and T-H-A-N-K-S.
Scallop Circle Card. This was all cut with the SLICE. Butterfly Staircase Card. I SLICED the Butterflies. Pretty cute, huh?
Large Scallop Circle Card. I SLICED the scallop circle and the the coordinating circles. This is my favorite. I'll be using this design alot, as well as my new SLICE! So that's enough about my new toy! Work has been busy, busy, busy. The kids have been back in school for two weeks now, they're gearing up for finals next week and then the start of the Spring semester. I'll be back soon for more catch up and slice news, so stay tuned!

After Thanksgiving time really reved up!We had a very nice Christmastime with each weekend in December filled with all the F's...Family, Fun, Friends and flu! Brent's parents and nephew arrived from Norway the first weekend in December. And Corey, Brent's brother arrived the following weekend. It was really great to have them here and hope they come back to the U.S. soon again! Now that things are quieting down and getting back to normal, I thought I would post some pictures from last year!

Have a great day! I'll be posting more stuffs later!

COUSINS

This is Thomas and Bryce.

Thomas is our nephew who is visiting from Norway. He lived here 13 years ago. Thomas is Brent's brother, Corey's eldest son. He and Bryce are a few months apart, Bryce is the oldest of the two. They will both be celebrating their 18th birthdays in 2009! This picture was taken at Leo Carillo. The cousins went body boarding for the entire day. They had such a blast!

Here is Thomas, Zack & Bryce eating Taco Bell...Thomas LOVES Taco Bell! He also said that he loves California! Maybe not the snow in the high desert though...isn't that why he came to the U.S.? We are enjoying having Thomas around. The guys are having so much fun getting to know eachother!

In a Nutshell...

After a pretty trying week, we had a pretty good weekend. Even though today it all seems like a bit of blur. Of course, Friday was Halloween and we were not home for our trick or treaters, we were at Bryce's football game. They lost against Taft (BOOOO!). The first half the team was doing pretty good. Then came the second half and they got stomped on! Oh! Well, Taft is #1 in the City so far. Let's hope their homecoming game this Friday is much better.
Fortunately, Noah's game wasn't until 6 p.m., so we had plenty of down time. So, our Saturday started off with cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning! It feels so nice to have a clean and tidy house. I feel like I accomplished a lot...I even made a pot of stew for us to enjoy after Noah's game. It had been raining all day so their field was pretty muddy and slippery! Fortunately, the rain stopped when it came time for Noah's team to play. The boys had fun getting all dirty! Anyway, Noah's team made it to the play-offs! We're so excited...We'll be getting more information within the next couple of days. Way to go Chiefs!
We also turned our clocks back one hour...giving us one extra hour of sleep. We all like that!
Sunday, Brent's mom (who is here from Norway), sister and niece drove down from the desert to go to church and visit with us for a bit afterwards. Later, we headed over to my parents' house for dinner. We enjoyed a delicious meal with them, Aunt M and our Sistah, Carolyn (Michelle's BFF).
Today, Brent & I are celebrating our 18th Wedding Anniversary! Wow, 18 years! That's amazing! Happy Anniversary, Brent!
Kim Brent
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. We've been through quite a bit, in these 18 years. Our marriage has not been perfect by any means. All I can say is that we've come along way and I'm looking forward to the years ahead.
Tomorrow is Noah's 11th Birthday! Not sure what we're doing yet, it's up to Noah.
DON'T FORGET TO VOTE and HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Fat Free Sunday...Yeah, Right!

Yesterday, in between grocery shopping, laundry and house work, Bryce said he was hungry, but he didn't know what he wanted to eat so I started throwing out all these suggestions...tuna, rice & hot dogs ~ nope, chili dogs ~ nope, sandwich ~ nope...then I thought even more, how about a bacon dog...mmm, that sounds good, he said...with grilled onions? Okay, I said, that sounded interesting (i have never cooked or even eaten a bacon dog). Anyway, I made 3 of them, Bryce ate two. Of course I had to sample the last one (I couldn't let it go to waste). Wow, was it good! I cannot make a habit of eating those, no way, jose! Very, very, fattening. To add to that, I baked brownies from scratch (first time ever)! It was so easy peasy...I thought I was going to have to sift flour, melt chocloate squares, etc. No way, it was a cinch and they turned out very good! Definitely better than the box type brownies. They were fudgy, moist and just plain delicious. I'll share the recipe in another post.

Hello Moto

Early this morning Noah & Dad went to ride their motorcycles up at Gorman. They said they had a blast! I caught them loading up the truck for their morning session.

While they were out riding, Bryce and Zack were in dream land and I went to eat breakfast with Ganka & Ama. The rest of the day we have spent gearing up for the week ahead. I went grocery shopping did some laundry, baked some homemade brownies and cooked dinner. Have a good week!

Ya Win Some & Ya Lose Some or Sometimes Tie...

Well last night we went to Bryce's football game against Cleveland HS. The evening was pretty exciting as it was Youth Night for two of the local middle school bands and drill team, as well as Noah's youth football team. The middle school bands played with the high school band, the drill teams joined the high school drill team. The youth football team ~Noah's team~ the Chatsworth Chiefs hung out with the Varsity team. Each player(s) were paired with a varsity player and they got to carry their helmets, throw the ball around w/ them, watch the j.v. game and cheer on their partner...well, this night was especially exciting for Noah because he was paired up with his big bro, Bryce. He had been looking forward to that since last year. They spent most of the evening together until the game started, then Noah had to go with his club and sit with them to watch the game! The Chancellors were suppose to win but ended up losing to the Cavaliers (boo). The score was 14-7 :?(

This morning, Brent & Zack headed to the beach for some Dad & Zack water time They made it just in time for Noah's noon game against the San Fernando Braves. It was a very good game. The score was 0-0. Today was also the Chiefs' Homecoming day and Noah was one of the Princes!

.

It was a very hot day today...it felt like it was 100 degrees. I'm sure it was in the upper 90's (whew). Hope you all are having a good weekend!

Something Fun...What's in a Name

So I was browsing the net today and stumbled across this website and decided to give it a try. I agree with somethings and totally disagree with others. However, when I plugged my family's names somethings were pretty accurate. Now it's your turn, Click on that link below and give it a try! Have fun!

You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.

People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

Friday Night Lights

Happy Saturday to you! Last night we spent the evening at the Chatsworth-El Camino football game! It was a very exiciting game. We didn't get the ball much the first half and the Chancellor defense held those Conquistadors. The score the first half was El-Co 6, Chatsworth 6. That was a little nerve racking because this was suppose to be an easy team to beat for Chatsworth. After the half the host team, El Camino, scored another touchdown and did not make the conversion. Chatsworth battled and battled, finally scoring a TD and making the field goal! The score was 12-13. I heard that the JV team came back from a 20-0 deficit in the first half and ended up winning, their score was 32-36 (WOW!)WAY TO GO CHANCELLORS!

Warming up

Getting ready for the tackle

Bryce caught a kick return...he's in there somewhere

Hi Zack!
Sorry for the blurry pics, I don't know why they're so blurry. Today, Noah has practice...his team hasn't had practice all week because of the wildfires. Stay tuned for the results of his game. They play the Valley Falcons at 10:00 tomorrow! GO CHIEFS!
That's it for now! Have a great weekend!
